Ideal excursion with children through the Garrotxa
Do you want to go on an excursion with children near the La Vall de Campmajor campsite?
A very popular excursion with children in our area is the train of the volcanoes, also known as the carrilet.
On this excursion you will be able to see the volcanoes: Martinyà, Pomareda, Torn and the unique Croscat volcano!
Today, the route is circular and leaves the Ecologic Lava campsite crossing fields reaching the heart of the Croscat volcano. During the journey you can enjoy a panorama while they explain many details and curiosities about the volcanic area of La Garrotxa.
Where do we take the train?
It’s very easy! From La Vall de Campmajor campsite head towards Olot, about 12.5 km, you have to cross the village of Santa Pau. You will pass the parking lot of the Santa Margarida volcano (left), go a few more meters until you find the break to reach the Lava Campsite (right hand, just at the bend).
You must buy the ticket for the train at the Lava campsite reception.
